Many thanks to all who came to Edinboro for ET 2010...athletes, families and friends. Appreciated is everyone's understanding and dealing with the unfortunate, certainly unexpected, no swim situation this year.*
Special thanks to each and every volunteer who helped make this year's event...a resulting successful duathlon event...happen as well as it did.

* STATEMENT REGARDING BEACH CLOSURE.
6/4/10
The Borough of Edinboro has had to close Pat Crawford Beach to swimming due to high e-coli bacteria counts. The timing is unfortunate because the Edinboro Triathlon is tomorrow (Saturday, June 5th). The e-coli bacteria counts often rise after large rain events. Large volumes of fast moving runoff waters tend to lift and transport background e-coli into the Lake. We have experienced two large rain storms in recent days. Historically, high e-coli counts, due to large rain events, tend to dissipate within a few days. The Borough staff will continue to perform daily testing and will re-open Pat Crawford Beach as soon as the e-coli bacteria counts drop back down to acceptable levels. The Borough’s e-coli testing and our response to high e-coli counts is based on Pennsylvania Law and is overseen by the PADEP and the Erie County Health Department.

NOTE: ET Bike Course Change! The traditional bike course (23.6 mile course) has been re-routed due to a major bridge reconstruction project which makes part of the course completely closed to all traffic. New course maps have been posted. 2010 ET Bike Course = approximately 22.4 miles.
